Donald J. Tracy was elected to Place 6 on the Cedar Park City Council in June 2010. Before serving on Council, he was a member of the Cedar Park 4A Economic Development Board. Donald recently completed a term as Mayor Pro Tem for the City, and currently serves on several Council committees, including the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee, the Higher Education Committee, the Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone #1 Board, and the Science Center Task Force. In addition, Don represents the City of Cedar Park on the Executive Committee of the Capital Area Council of Governments, where he serves on the Capital Area Economic Development District board, the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Committee, and the Criminal Justice Advisory Committee.
For over 15 years, Donald has worked in Central Texas as a human resource management and workforce education professional, where he has led collaborative, community-wide and state-wide skills development initiatives focused on training workers in high-growth, high-opportunity industry clusters. He currently works for Austin Community College, where he serves as Director of Business Operations and Marketing in the Continuing Education Division.
Donald graduated from Texas A&M University with a BA in Political Science, from Georgetown University with an MA in Russian Area Studies, and holds national certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources. He has resided in Cedar Park for over twelve years. He and his wife Shannon are active members of New Hope First Baptist Church, where they both are members of the Sunday Worship Choir.
